If you are joining us for the "Use Your Stash Blog Hop" you are right on track. WELCOME! You should be coming from Judy's Blog.
There are 6 participants this month. If you get lost along the way you can see the entire list of hoppers on Rachel's Blog. Let's get started.
Today I am showcasing Heat embossing as an accent to a layout. There are several ways to emboss, but I have to say this is one of my favorites ( despite how messy I get with it!).
This layout was made with what little scraps I had left of year's Halloween paper Mischief by CTMH. This was to finish the last Halloween layout, which is only missing pictures with accents over the pictures...Evil printer dieing!
This is the first spot that I embossed to accent the page.
Second Spot. With both embossed images I used silver embossing powder.
This is the stamp set that I focused on using for this layout
These are the basic items needed for heat embossing
You start by applying the stamp to the versamark.
If you look closely you can just barely make out the image of the stamp on the page from the versamark.
After applying the image to paper cover that area with embossing powder. Shake off the extra powder in your craft tray so it can be poured back in to the container.
After you shake off the extra powder apply the craft heater to the image, keeping space between the paper and the heater so the heat doesn't cause the paper to curl. As the powder is heated it will bubble and liquify. (as shown in the image)
